I approached zest around some logo and brand concepts when we won approval from Cricket Tasmania to join the Cricket Tasmania Premier League. We needed to be strong and contemporary. How long does printing take?
Every print job is different and takes a different amount of time to produce, however, most of our printing takes 7-10 working days from artwork approval. If you require your printing sooner, please let us know and we will do our best to work with you to meet your deadline.
Do you print in-house?
No, we don’t. We are print brokers and deal with numerous printers so we can find the right printer for every print job, ensuring the best quality and bang for buck.
I’m not sure if my artwork is right, what should I do?
The ideal supplied artwork is a high-resolution PDF with crop marks and a minimum 3mm bleed. If you are not sure if your artwork is print-ready, just send it through and we will take a look.
What does GSM mean?
GSM or grams per square metre is a measurement to look at when selecting papers. GSM refers to the weight of the paper and is sometimes confused with the thickness of the paper. It is important to note that if two papers are 250gsm, they may not be the same weight due to the type of paper used.
We suggest different GSMs for different jobs, for example, we recommend at least 350gsm for business cards, while 100gsm is a standard option for letterheads so they can go through office printers easily.
Will printed colours look the same as the colours on my screen?
No, they won’t and that’s for a few reasons. The type of colour used on screens is called RGB (red, green, blue) which devices use to show images to you. On printing presses, they use either CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, key/black) or PMS (pre-mixed inks that are universally recognised) and naturally, with the use of different colour spectrums, the colours will appear differently.
Another reason is down to the device you are using and its calibration, everything from the technologies to the brightness, will have an impact on the colour you see.
What type of materials do you print on?
From standard laser paper, speciality paper, aluminium composite, vinyl banner and one-way vision to corflute, mesh banner, outdoor banner (and a whole heap more), we have a material to suit your needs.
We also have an array of finishes to take your printing from great to amazing such as lamination, spot UV, Scodix, embossing, metallic foiling, perfect binding, saddle stitch binding and folding to name a few.
What do CMYK and PMS printing mean?
CMYK refers to cyan, magenta, yellow, key (black) and is the four-colour process used for full-colour printing. It uses these four different ink colours to create all colour variations. This means that it is not as precise as PMS which is exact but is the choice for most print applications.
PMS stands for Pantone Matching System, a universal colour system that represents each colour as a numbered code, for example, PMS 485 is red. Unlike CMYK, PMS colours are pre-mixed with a specific ‘recipe’ of inks before printing and deliver the most consistent and precise colour possible in printing.
I’ve got my letters, flyers or brochures printed; can you mail them for me?
We sure can. We have great relationships with Australia Post and local mail distribution services and are experts in taking your printing from the press straight to mailboxes.
